OUR HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
One precedence: sustainable production in complete safety.
As a responsible company, GPN rates safety as number one in its priorities.
Safety is increasingly predominant and the safety management systems in factories now use the internationally recognized ISRS (International Safety Rating System) assessment system,. The aim is to bring all GPN sites up to a level of safety comparable to the best industry standards.
Not only to guarantee product quality but also the quality in production: to meet the safety standards is an obligation and to prescribe rigorous rules is a commitment. Safety means working in another way and more efficiently.
With the aim of continuous improvement, GPN has launched the Active Safety project: an approach to improve our performance in terms of health and safety. Active Safety involves strict rules and commitments for GPN's employees and production methods.
GPN is also a signatory of the Product Stewardship program officially launched on the 23rd September 2003 by the European Fertilizer Producers (Fertilizers Europe). This commitment is intended to safeguard and take on board the aspects of safety, health and environment (SHE) throughout the product life cycle.
This program depends on a set of core values and commitments adopted by the management of Fertilizers Europe's member companies. Implementing the program is assessed through a Compliance Review questionnaire comprising 143 questions divided into 10 sections covering the various sectors involved in the life of a product.
GPN has written its own SHEQ charter (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) to express the priority action sectors of the company. This voluntary commitment by GPN reflects a real desire for improvement.
